Adapter rings
When the old ceiling opening is larger than the new LED downlight, an adapter ring or cover plate can preserve the ceiling appearance. Relighting.de checks the existing cut-out, desired trim, ceiling material and quantity before recommending a route.

Adapter rings are useful when the existing opening is only slightly larger than the new luminaire or when the cut edge has to be covered. For large differences or visible design ceilings, a custom plate may be the better route.
Cut-out size, visible outside diameter of the old trim, ceiling material, quantity and a photo are usually enough for a first technical assessment.
No. The downlight, trim, spring position, weight and ceiling build-up still need to fit the project.
For certain projects, a 3D printed or machined special ring can be checked when standard rings are not suitable.
