New luminaire does not fit the existing ceiling opening
In retrofit projects, the electrical replacement is often easy, but the mechanical fit is not. Relighting.de checks whether a different luminaire, adapter ring, trim plate or project-specific solution can keep the existing ceiling intact.
The project request form is currently in German, but English project details and uploads are welcome.
The common mismatch
The old luminaire may have a different mounting frame, trim size, spring distance or recessed depth. That makes direct replacement difficult even when the light output is easy to match.
cut-out range does not match
driver or emergency pack needs more space
spring clips sit in the wrong position
visible trim does not cover the old opening
Assessment before ordering
A short project check avoids ordering luminaires that fit on paper but fail on site.
Frequently asked questions
What should I measure first?
Measure the ceiling opening, not only the outside diameter of the old trim.
Can a different LED luminaire solve the problem?
Sometimes yes. If not, an adapter ring or custom trim can be checked.
Is a photo useful?
Yes. A photo of the old luminaire and the cut-out helps identify the mechanical issue.
Can larger quantities be checked?
Yes. Quantity and room type are important because they affect cost, availability and consistency.
